The Caribous own Dustin Russell is once again supporting the Max Memorial Protection Fund and the Clarenville Area SPCA. Dustin, along with his lovely wife Patty and their four legged friend Spot have become the 'face' of the marketing campaign for the "Paw of Protection" Animal Abuse Awareness Jewelry Collection - a collection designed by Karlande Designs (same designer as the sparkles of hope cancer awareness bracelet). Watch for posters with Dustin, Patty & Spot to pop up around town beginning late next week after the official public launch of the collection on Friday, May 4th @ 4pm at the CEC. The Clarenville Caribous have won the "Edward Browne Team of the Year Award" from Sport Newfoundland & Labrador. This prestigious award goes to the 2011 Clarenville Caribous team - the same team that brought the Allan Cup back to Newfoundland. Within the past 12 months, the Clarenville Caribous have won an Allan Cup, their 3rd Herder Memorial Championship and now have won the 2011 Team of the Year from SportNL. Congratulations players, staff, executive, volunteers, sponsors and of course to the fans who have made all this possible! |

To celebrate the Caribous winning their 3rd Herder Memorial Championship in four years, the Caribous are once again extending the invitation to celebrate with our fans. Herder celebrations will take place on May 12th, 2012. Prior to Game 1 of the Herder Memorial, HNL presented some awards in a pre-game ceremony which included: "Gus Soper Memorial Award" as the League MVP winner: Ryan Desrosiers, "SE Tuma Memorial Award" for Top Scorer winner: Ryan Desrosiers, as well as Telegram Trophy for Top Team of the Regular Season to the Clarenville Caribous. The "Howie Clouter Award" for the most sportsmanlike player went to Andrew Pearcey of the Mount Pearl Blades.

The Clarenville Caribous organization would like to take this opportunity to thank its loyal volunteers, fans and sponsors for the tremendous support they have shown us during the regular season. Since re-entering Senior Hockey in 2006, the Caribous have been very successful. We have, in a very short period of time, won two West Coast Senior Hockey League titles, two Herder Memorial Championship titles and a National Championship, the Allan Cup. Congratulations goes out to JUNIOR STAGG of Bonavista who has won the 2011 Kawasaki TERYX 750 Fi 4x4 SPORT SE (Limited Edition). A HUGE Thank-you to all fans who purchased tickets, to the individual sellers and businesses who sold tickets, to Wal-Mart for allowing the organization to set up in the store front with the actual side by side, and to Coastal Outdoors for supplying the prize! This has been a very successful fundraiser for the Caribous, and look for future such draws in the future! |
